David Trudell

After a world premiere at Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica, solo performer David Trudell reprised Night & Dave at the Spirit Studio in Silverlake for five special Sunday matinees this summer. Night & Dave marks another collaboration with theater veteran Michael Kearns. Trudell debuted his first solo performance piece, In Heat In Hollywood, at The Skylight Theatre in June 2012, produced by the Skylight Theatre Company and directed by Kearns. After an extended run of sold out shows, David reprised In Heat at the Cavern Club Theatre at Casita del Campo in November, immediately before unveiling a holiday extravaganza, In Heat In Hollywood Ho Ho Ho (back at the Skylight).

Trudell began his acting career in third grade and has been performing ever since: onstage and off. He toured with the CG Players in the Hudson Valley where he landed leads in Look Homeward Angel, Barefoot in the Park, and Butterflies are Free. At The Comedy Works in Albany, he co-starred in The Gingerbread Lady. Upon moving to L.A. he nabbed a principal role in a McDonald’s commercial where he deftly sang and simultaneously ate a hamburger without choking. He has appeared in short films and various theatrical productions, including Charles Ludlam’s Camille at Highways Performance Space with Kearns.

More recently, the performer has lent his talents to events on World AIDS Day (2011, 2012) and has appeared at the West Hollywood Book Fair. Earlier this year, he performed at the Spirit Studio’s Strong Words and in June, Trudell lent his talents to a benefit performance for Housing Works. The solo artist studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
