Acting For Camera; Master Class in Shakespeare

Martin Jago is a British interdisciplinary director, teacher, and writer specializing in both contemporary and classical drama. Mr. Jago is the author of two books on Shakespeare — To Play or Not to Play: 50 Games for Acting Shakespeare, with a foreword by Hollywood actor and Shakespeare teacher, Alfred Molina and published by Smith & Kraus, the largest seller of trade theatre books worldwide, and ESL Shakespeare: 101 Everyday Phrases was published in September 2013. Additionally, he is the director of, an online educational resource that is home to recordings of all of Shakespeare’s sonnets. A unique feature of the project is the list of contributing artists: 154 professional actors from around the globe. Passionate about actor education and training he has instructed thousands of student actors and professionals alike. For several years, he ran the on-camera acting class for one of Britain’s leading drama schools, with a primary focus on camera technique and scene study. Mr. Jago initially trained as an actor and after a long and industrious career in London’s West End and beyond, he changed paths in the mid-90s. He trained at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in his native United Kingdom, lives in London and Los Angeles, and works internationally.
